More is More Fashionable

Gown Gala
Below are images from StyleSight.com from the Cannes Film Festival. Navy, red, and classic white and black seem to be common colors. Mixes are definitely in, with sheers and different textures; while some celebrities stayed with solid classic colors in the same fabric.

More is More Fashionable

Accessory trends for evening wear
Fall/Winter 2011-2012

The jewelry accessories for F/W 2011-12 can be described by the Latin phrase "horror vacui", meaning "fear of empty space". In this category, more is more - fashionable, that is.

Silver, classic black & white, feathers, fringe, crystals, beads, you name it, it has been layered on the runway this season. Last season was about color, now jewelry trends are moving back into classic neutral colors that can be paired with anything, but wild materials to make it stand out.

Jewelry

Layering

Whether it's bangles or necklaces, this season is about layering, layering, layering. Layering some silver bangles with a statement bracelet in a similar color will complement a gown nicely.

Statement Pieces

Necklaces and cocktail rings are big this season - in more ways than one. A simple cocktail ring or statement necklace are perfect, yet completely elegant accessories for a lavish gown.

Chandelier Earrings

Chandelier earrings are the most classy way to complement a couture or formal gown & they're also big, big, big for fall/winter 2011-2012. You can't go wrong with classic.

Shoes

Glitter Pumps

Giuseppe Zanotti

Ivanka Trump                                                         Nine West

 Satin

BP Satin Knot Pumps                             Fendi Satin Bow Pumps

Donna Karan Saint Pump                                              Jason Wu Satin Pumps

Knee or floor length, ballgown or sheath, satin or lace, purple or blue - either of these styles of pump will accentuate the beauty of an evening gown

Both the shoes and accessories for Fall/Winter 2011-12 are double threats - classic and beautiful, but edgy and new at the same time. This fall and winter will definitely not be drab.
